Weis Markets today said it had completed the extensive remodel of its East Lampeter Township on Lincoln Highway East. As part of the Grand Re-Opening celebration, Weis Markets is making $21,000 in local donations.
Work on the project began last fall. As a result of the remodel, the store is more energy efficient and has:
- An Expanded bakery department
- A larger deli with increased meal options and a new gourmet cheese case
- A larger produce department with an increased selection of organic produce and fresh items
- An expanded service seafood department
- A more user friendly store layout and new, contemporary décor
- New frozen food cases with doors which significantly reduce the store’s refrigerant usage.
Donations include:
- $20,000 to Lancaster General for its Nurse Family Partnership which targets pre-natal services to first time mothers regardless of income.
- $500 to East Lampeter Township’s D.A.R.E program which teaches children life skills that help them avoid drugs, violence and gangs.
- $500 to the Lafayette Fire Company, a volunteer fire company serving East Lampeter Township.
