Friday, August 20th, 2010
Weis Markets today announced it has completed the renovation and remodel of its Washington Boulevard store in Laurel (Savage) and that it would hold the store’s Grand-Reopening celebration beginning on Sunday, August 22.
The store was open during the renovation. As part of the Grand Re-Opening celebration, Weis Markets will donate $10,000 to Howard County Hospital’s neo-natal unit and $1,000 to the Savage Volunteer Fire Department.
As a result of the project, the store has all new décor, larger produce, bakery and deli departments, an increased selection of fresh, take-out meals, an expanded sushi counter and an increased selection of organic, ethnic and gourmet products.
Grand Opening festivities will take place throughout the week. As part of the celebration, the store will randomly select two customers over the next week for free 60-second shopping sprees.
Founded in 1912, Weis Markets marked its 98th year of continuous operation in May. It currently operates 164 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, New Jersey and West Virginia. In Laurel, it operates 3 stores.
