What is a Registered Dietitian?

A registered dietitian (RD) is a food and nutrition expert and your most credible source of nutrition information.

Registered dietitians have met the following specific academic and professional requirements:
Bachelor Degree through a program accredited by the American Dietetic Association’s Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education
Completion of an accredited and supervised internship
Pass a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Annual fulfillment of continuing educational requirements

What does L.D.N. stand for?

L.D.N. is an abbreviation for “licensed dietitian/nutritionist.”  All registered dietitians on the Healthy Living team are also licensed by the state of Pennsylvania.
