Chipotle BBQ Sliders

Ingredients

  • 2 slices pepper Jack cheese, cut in quarters
  • 1/2 tsp. ground chipotle chili powder
  • 1 Clove Garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup Weis Quality Bread Crumbs, Original Flavor
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef or turkey (93% fat free or higher)
  • 8 Weis Bakery Slider Rolls or whole-wheat dinner rolls, sliced in half
  • 1/2 cup Weis Quality Thick and Zesty Barbecue Sauce

Instructions

Prepare outdoor grill for cooking over medium heat. Spray grill grates thoroughly with cooking spray. Meanwhile, combine beef or turkey, bread crumbs, garlic and chili powder in medium bowl, mixing lightly but thoroughly. Shape into 8 ½-inch thick mini patties. Grill covered, 8 to 9 minutes, turning occasionally, until instant-read thermometer inserted horizontally into center registers 160°F for beef sliders or 180°F for turkey sliders. Top with cheese during last minute of grilling. Place bur g ers on bottoms of buns. Add barbecue sauce and desired toppings such as grilled onions, roasted red peppers and lettuce. Serve.
