Slow Cooker Stuffed Peppers

Ingredients

  • 1.25 lb. Weis Quality Ground Turkey Breast
  • 1 cup onion
  • 1 tsp. The Spice Hunter® Granulated Garlic
  • ¼ tsp. Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. The Spice Hunter® Chef’s Shake
  • 8.8 ounce Weis Quality Whole Grain Brown Fast Rice
  • ½ cup Weis Quality Plain Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Large Weis Quality Egg
  • 4 large bell peppers
  • 28 ounce can Furmanos® Crushed Tomatoes with Roasted Garlic and Olive Oil
  • ½ cup Swanson® Natural Goodness™ Chicken Broth
  • 1 Tbsp. Weis Quality Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp. The Spice Hunter® Chef’s Shake Seasoning Blend
  • ¼ cup Weis Quality Grated Parmesan Cheese (optional)

Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, combine first 8 ingredients and mix evenly.

2. Stuff each pepper half with one-eighth of the turkey mixture and set aside.

3. In a medium bowl, combine tomatoes, broth, sugar and seasoning blend; pour over the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker stoneware.

4. Place 4 prepared pepper halves over sauce and layer 4 remaining peppers on top.

5. Cover with remaining sauce.

6. Cook on HIGH heat for 4 hours, or until the internal temperature of the stuffed peppers reaches 165°F.

7. Sprinkle with grated cheese before serving.
