I am privileged to lead the growing Weis Dietitian team and creation of nutrition-focused health and wellness programs. We reach millions of Weis shoppers every year via HealthyBites Magazine, HealthyBites podcast and traditional and social media and strive to communicate timely, practical and achievable nutrition messages to inspire shoppers to make meaningful lifestyle changes. In my own kitchen, I often stretch recipes with quinoa, rice, veggies or beans to get extra servings out of them or I prepare double batches so there will be quick lunch and dinner options available all week long.

In my down time, I enjoy cooking, spending time with my family and getting active outdoors with my husband, young daughter and two dogs.

I share my enthusiasm for healthy living through the Weis HealthyBites podcast, HealthyBites facebook group, our kid’s field trip program, leading workshops at community organizations, support groups and after-school programs and much more. I always strive to translate the nutrition science into easily understandable information in order to help individuals make better choices for themselves and their families.  A healthy eating routine needs to be one that you enjoy and can maintain for a lifetime.  I truly live by the phrase “Everything in moderation.”
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my nieces, DIY projects, and visiting new places.

I enjoy bringing awareness to healthful foods and teaching people that eating healthfully can be fun and taste good too! Practicing mindful eating while savoring all foods is a useful skill that everyone should adopt. Overall, the best approach to maintaining a long-term healthy diet is to ditch the quick-fix fad diets and find an eating pattern that includes healthful foods you enjoy.

When I’m not promoting healthful eating to the community, I enjoy exploring new places with my husband, spending time outdoors, and tackling the latest home improvement project.

As a Weis Markets in-store dietitian, I love having the ability to connect with our customers to teach them about healthful and delicious food choices. Whether it’s through one-on-one counseling, store tours or group presentations, I aim to serve as a reliable source of nutrition information. My goal is to help customers discover foods that nourish their mind and body, while shifting their thoughts of food as a stressor to something that they can enjoy. Realizing that one way of eating does not fit all and learning to appreciate one’s body can help everyone to find a balanced approach to food.

In my spare time, I like to teach group fitness classes and play with my cat, Gingerbread.

I enjoy being able to provide customers and the community with ideas and tools to make better food choices when shopping in our stores. Such improved choices lead to a healthy home and, in turn, a happy and healthy lifestyle. I believe that food is medicine and nourishing your body with healthful foods is essential for the prevention and management of chronic diseases. My personal food philosophy is that there is a place for treats among an overall balanced and nutritious approach to eating.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling with my family and friends, supporting local businesses, cooking, and being active outside.

Nutrition is ever-changing and it can be tricky to apply the latest science to one’s eating choices.  In my role, I enjoy breaking down the latest research and sharing nutrition education with others to help them live healthier lives. Educating the community on various health and wellness topics in a fun and memorable way is my goal. I believe that you do not have to deprive yourself and everything is good in moderation. Making healthy choices can be difficult, so allowing yourself some variety helps. Lifestyle changes that can be sustained throughout one’s life are key.

In my spare time I enjoy trying new recipes, taking dance classes, and spending time with family.
