I oversee the growing Weis Dietitian team and lead the creation of health and wellness programs that educate our shoppers on how to make nutritious food choices.  What truly drives me in this role is being able to positively influence others to help them prevent chronic diseases, feel well and live their best life.  We reach millions of Weis shoppers with our nutrition messages each year so I strive to make them timely, practical and achievable.  In the kitchen, I often stretch recipes with quinoa, rice, veggies or beans to get extra servings out of them or I prepare double batches so there will be quick lunch and dinner options available all week long.

In my down time I love to travel and be active outside with my husband, one-year old daughter and two pups.

As a dietitian at Weis Markets, I truly appreciate the opportunity I have to work on specialty wellness initiatives and connect with shoppers through our Ask a Weis Dietitian service, store tours, cooking demos and media opportunities. I like to translate the latest nutrition science and research into easily understandable information in order to help individuals make better choices for themselves and their families. A healthy eating routine needs to be one that you can maintain for a lifetime and that includes sweets and treats! I truly live by the phrase “Everything in moderation.”

In my spare time I enjoy doing art projects with my nieces and watching hockey.

In select stores, they offer a monthly schedule of FREE health and wellness events such as nutrition workshops, tasting events, personalized nutrition consultations/shopping, cooking demos, Cart Smart™ tours, and even health screenings in the Pharmacy.

I enjoy bringing awareness to healthful foods and teaching people that eating healthfully can be fun and taste good too! Practicing mindful eating while savoring all foods is a useful skill that everyone should adopt. Overall, the best approach to maintaining a long-term healthy diet is to ditch the quick-fix fad diets and find an eating pattern that includes healthful foods you enjoy.

When I’m not promoting healthful eating to the community, I enjoy exploring new places with my husband, spending time outdoors, and tackling the latest home improvement project.

I thoroughly enjoy meeting with customers to help them achieve their goals towards a healthier lifestyle. As a dietitian who spent the last ten years working within the geriatric population and as a wife and mother to two young boys, I don’t believe in just restricting and dieting. It’s important to incorporate health and wellness into your life in a way that makes you feel good about the changes you and your family are making. Let your kids be involved in meal preparation by letting them pick out a new fruit or vegetable each time you go to the grocery store.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, ice skating with my son, and boxing.
