Weis Markets today said it has opened 30-seat café selling beer for on-site consumption and takeout in its Easton store in Broadcasting Square on 3011 William Penn Highway. The store received final Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) approval earlier this week and began selling beer late Wednesday afternoon. The café is now fully stocked and offers 400 different premium, import, micro and craft beers. This total also includes a selection of wine coolers and other malt beverages. Beer is sold at a separate cash register in the cafe. All beer purchases require a valid ID. Weis Markets currently sells beer in seven locations in Pennsylvania: Tannersville, Schnecksville, Dallas, Clarks Summit, Sunbury, Wyomissing and Easton. Founded in 1912, Weis Markets marked its 98th year of continuous operation in May. It currently operates 164 stores in five states: Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, New Jersey and West Virgini
