Philipsburg Store Expanded; Local Donations Total $3,300

(Sunbury, PA) – Weis Markets today announced it has completed a 2,000 square-foot addition and upgrade at its Philipsburg, PA store and that it will present $3,300 in local donations as part of its Grand Re-Opening celebration on Sunday, August 26.
The total cost of the project is $2.8 million. Work on the 42,000 square-foot store, which was open during construction, began in November 2011. As a result of the project, the store has:
- An expanded produce department
- Larger frozen and dairy departments
- All new decor
- Upgraded bakery, deli and meat departments
- A larger pharmacy that has been relocated to a more convenient section of the store and integrated with the store’s Health and Beauty Care section.
- Upgraded self-scan units
At Sunday’s Grand Re-Opening, Weis Markets’ Philipsburg store team will present $3,300 in local donations including $1,500 to the YMCA of Centre County, $500 to the Reliance Fire Department, $500 to the Morris Township Volunteer Fire Department, $300 to Caring Healthcare, $250 to the Centre County Library and Historical Museum and $250 to the Philipsburg Historical Foundation.
