The donation is part of the company’s Fight Hunger program

Sunbury, PA (March 22, 2018) – Weis Markets today presented a $15,000 donation to the Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank as part of the company’s 10th annual Fight Hunger Campaign.

The campaign raises awareness of food insecurity and provides food and donations to more than 150 local food banks and emergency food providers across seven states in Weis Markets’ 204-store service area. Associates encouraged customers to make small donations at Weis checkout by rounding up their orders or purchasing $1, $4 or $10 vouchers, or donating non-perishable items.

“Food insecurity is a real issue in many of the communities we serve,” said Weis Markets’ Director of Public Relations Dennis Curtin. “Thanks to the enthusiasm of our associates and customers during our Fight Hunger Campaign, we are able to partner with the Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank to help provide meals to those in need.”
