This donation is part of a series of contributions to local organizations throughout the company’s service area
Sunbury, PA (April 23, 2024) – In observance of Earth Day, Weis Markets today announced it has donated $1,500 to the Susquehanna River Clean Up.
The Susquehanna River Clean Up is an organization dedicated to keeping the banks along the Susquehanna River and Lake Augusta free from garbage and preserving the environment surrounding them.
“In honor of our commitment to bettering our environment, we’re proud to contribute to the Susquehanna River Clean Up and their mission of giving back to our planet,” said Weis Markets Vice President of Marketing and Advertising Maria Rizzo. “Their organization continues to make a positive impact on the health of the river and the environment, and we look forward to seeing their great work for generations to come.”
When I took over a few years ago, I wanted to make this more than just a one-day event. I have a great team of committee members who have helped grow this organization”, said Chairperson for Susquehanna River Cleanup Project Chairperson Danielle Bronowicz. “We’ve expanded our reach, now offering a spring and fall cleanup, and we've worked with local scout groups and schools. We have plans to continue making progress and we are very grateful to have Weis supporting us in making this happen.”
The Susquehanna River Clean Up is one of several beneficiaries Weis Markets is donating to in observance of Earth Day.
