Sunbury, PA (April 25, 2025) – In observance of Earth Day, Weis Markets announced it has donated $2,500 to the Chesapeake Conservancy.
Natural resource conservation is a key pillar of Weis Markets’ sustainability strategy, aligning with the mission of the Chesapeake Conservancy to build new parks, trails and public access sites and help keep the Chesapeake free of waste and safe for wildlife.
The Chesapeake Conservancy is one of four beneficiaries of Weis Markets’ annual Earth Day donations, which total $10,000.
"Weis Markets is inspired by the Chesapeake Conservancy's work, and we're proud to support their vital mission of enhancing this precious ecosystem," said Maria Rizzo, Vice President of Marketing and Advertising. "Our commitment extends to ongoing efforts that protect wildlife and preserve the Chesapeake for generations to come."
“Chesapeake Conservancy thanks Weis Markets for their generous support,” said JT Dean, Director of Individual and Major Gifts for Chesapeake Conservancy. “The Chesapeake Bay watershed lands and waters are a natural treasure that we all need to work to protect. This gift will go towards this goal including work to restore agriculturally impaired streams throughout the Susquehanna River valley, ensuring that these farms remain bountiful, sustainable and vital partners in our collective efforts to create clean waters.”
