Each Weis Markets store will match customer donations for a local nonprofit with a corporate check.
Sunbury, PA (December 2, 2019) – Weis Markets today announced it will join with customers to support local nonprofits during the National Day of Giving on Tuesday, December 3.
All customers are invited to donate to a local nonprofit, chosen by associates at each store location, by adding $1, $3, $5 or $10 when they check out at registers, or by rounding up their grocery bill. Each Weis location will add a $500 check to the customer contributions.

Our Giving Tuesday initiative, now in its second year, allows us to partner with our customers and give back to the organizations doing important work across our company’s footprint,” said Ron Bonacci, Weis Markets Vice President of Advertising and Marketing. “We’re proud to support the many nonprofits that provide necessary help to those in need this holiday season.”
The local organizations chosen by Weis locations are primarily food pantries, emergency shelter services and animal rescue organizations. In addition to the local store donations, Weis is distributing larger donations, ranging from $5,000 to $10,000, to several non-profit partners throughout the company’s footprint including the PA Family Support Alliance, Central PA Food Bank, Maryland Food Bank, Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse (CHOW®) of Binghamton, NY and CEO Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank.
