Customers invited to donate at the register to a local nonprofit chosen by the store team; Weis to match donation to increase impact.
Sunbury, PA (November 21, 2023) – Weis Markets today announced it will join with customers to support local nonprofits during National Day of Giving on Tuesday, November 28.
Shoppers are invited to donate at checkout throughout National Day of Giving by rounding up their purchases at the register, which will benefit local nonprofits chosen by each store’s associates and leadership. Each Weis location will match customer donations with a $500 donation.
“During this time of year, we see a significant increase in charitable demand, and we believe taking part in this day of global generosity will positively impact our local communities and benefit food pantries, emergency shelter services and animal rescue organizations,” said Maria Rizzo, Vice President of Marketing and Advertising for Weis Markets. “We have long-standing relationships with organizations throughout our footprint and we’re thankful that our loyal shoppers continue to play a part in helping us give back to these deserving nonprofits.”
In addition to the local store donations, Weis is donating an additional $17,500 to several non-profit partners throughout the company’s footprint.
