Program will generate $500,000 in donations for pre-k through eighth grade schools
Sunbury, PA (September 12, 2023) – Weis Markets today announced that registration is open for its fourth annual Weis 4 School program, which is expected to generate $500,000 in donations for pre-k through eighth grade schools in Weis Markets’ seven-state market area.
“Weis 4 School is a convenient way for Weis Markets customers to make a difference at local schools by doing their regular grocery shopping,” said Weis Markets Director of Public Relations Dennis Curtin. “Donations generated through Weis 4 School offer schools the flexibility to use funds where they’re most needed. The program is part of Weis Markets’ ongoing investment in the communities where we operate stores.”
Weis Markets has invited area schools to participate in the program. Schools can designate a coordinator to enter information for their school at www.weis4school.com. Once registered, schools can invite their supporters to link their Weis Rewards Cards online at www.weis4school.com. School registrations will close on October 31, 2023. Customers can link their cards until April 30, 2024, when the program ends.
Qualifying purchases made with a connected Weis Rewards Card will help supporters earn a share of the $500,000 donation for their schools. Shoppers will continue to earn rewards points that they can redeem for discounts on food and fuel. Due to laws and regulations, lottery ticket, postage, alcohol, tobacco, gas and milk purchases do not qualify for points.
All schools ranging from pre-k through eighth grade are eligible to participate, including public, private and religious schools and daycare centers. Donation checks will be presented after the program concludes on April 30, 2024.
