Company celebrates the grand re-opening of its store, which had been closed due to a fire since December 2021
Sunbury, PA (May 26, 2022) Weis Markets today announced its West Hazleton, PA, store re-opened on Thursday, May 26. The 65,000-square-foot store, located on Susquehanna Boulevard in West Hazleton, PA, was damaged in a fire in December 2021.
The store has been restored and upgraded. Enhancements include a drive-thru pharmacy, our new market-style produce department design and our latest décor. In addition, all checkout lanes are either self-checkout or dual use, meaning they can be staffed by cashiers during busy times and turned into self-checkout lanes during less busy times. This means that in the new West Hazleton store, all lanes will be available at all times.

This grand re-opening would not have been possible without the efforts of the 24 fire and EMS departments, led by the West Hazleton Fire Department, who responded to the store fire in December 2021.”
The store offers Weis 2 Go Online ordering with curbside pick-up and delivery, through which customers can order online and have their groceries handpicked by trained personal shoppers for pick-up or home delivery. With this offering, customers can use their Weis Preferred Shopper cards to save on their orders and earn rewards on gas and private brand products, and they can also browse the weekly online circular and add sale items to their carts.
West Hazleton customers will also benefit from Weis’ Low, Low Prices program, which launched in 2019. The multi-million-dollar investment in low prices is the company’s most ambitious price reduction program to date and recently expanded to include bestselling items in the frozen department.
